Cycle to Work in Cambridge!Traveling to work in Cambridge can be a headache, with massive congestion during rush hour. A steady increase in cycle paths and routes, as well as award-winning Park & Ride schemes, means that access to and across the city by bicycle is now a viable alternative to the car. Not only does cycling often mean a quicker, less stressful journey to work, it also gives people the added benefit of making the most of their lunch breaks, as many shops and offices are situated within easy cycling distance of all the city's amenities.
The UK Government "Cycle to Work" Scheme - Save ££The government wants to encourage people to cycle to work, and has recently set up a scheme in which participating employers can buy bikes for employees who wish to try out cycling to work, and can then hire the bike from the employer. There is significant tax relief for companies, and employees can negotiate to buy the bicycle from the employer at the end of the hire agreement. It's also known as the "tax free bike buying scheme" - find out more below.
